USPTO TMNG - Trademark Next Gen - Form Paragraph Editor

Part of the USPTO User Centered Design team we designed the UX Architecture, and User Interface for the USPTO Trademark Next Generation platform's "Form Paragraph Editor". We were required to use an "Existing" Internal style guide (TMNG) which is outside of the public facing USPTO Design Library. The custom toolbar was created with CK Editor and User Interface designed in Axure RP.

FORM PARAGRAPH EDITOR GADGET IN TMNG

Discovery: Currently examiners and lawyers are using external applications (MSFT Word, Notepad...etc.) to modify form paragraphs and then upload the new form paragraphs in another application. There are too many applications being used and edits / changes are not easily tracked.

Strategy: Create a new form paragraph editor that is within the TradeMarkNextGen application (TMNG). This new Form Paragraph Editor would allow users to edit the details and content of a form paragraph while remaining in TMNG. This gadget will include a full custom text editor and also track changes, allow for publishing and submitting for review.
